Abhishek Bardoloi
Registered Psychologist
Abhishek is dedicated to helping individuals heal from emotional distress caused by a range of presenting concerns.
Abhishek completed his undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science Psychology from McEwan University and his Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. During his time as a student, Abhishek worked as a respite worker and also participated as a distress line volunteer, working with callers who were experiencing imminent crisis.
Repeating unhealthy relationship cycles can feel overwhelming, but healing is possible. Abhishek supports clients in developing self-awareness, building resilience, and learning skills to foster healthy, fulfilling connections with themselves and others. He understands how challenging it can be to carry the weight of past traumas and unhealthy relationships into your daily life. You don't have to navigate this path alone. By working together, we can explore these challenges and create a space for healing and growth.
Specialties
Abhishek specializes in PTSD, anxiety, depressive mood, concerns related to attachment, navigating conflict in relationships, difficulties with sleeping or eating patterns, wanting more self-confidence, and patterns of people-pleasing that impact their well-being. To address these symptoms, he incorporates modalities such as EMDR, CBT, psychodynamic and attachment-based interventions to address and gain insight into the root source of these concerns.
Abhishek likes to explore and gain insight into how and why these symptoms or patterns may show up today, so we have clarity around why past experiences can affect present mood or behaviour. This gives us a strong foundation of understanding of our symptoms, from which we then work to heal from the source of the symptom itself.
Trauma & PTSD
Healing from the impact of past experiences
Abhishek supports individuals who are carrying the effects of trauma, including PTSD, anxiety, and emotional distress. Using approaches such as EMDR, CBT, psychodynamic, and attachment-based interventions, he helps clients understand how past experiences may continue to influence present-day emotions, behaviours, and relationships.
Relationships & Attachment
Breaking unhealthy patterns and building meaningful connections
Abhishek helps clients explore attachment patterns, relationship difficulties, and recurring cycles that can make it challenging to feel secure and connected. Together, clients can develop greater self-awareness, understand the roots of these patterns, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Anxiety, Confidence & Emotional Well-Being
Developing resilience, self-understanding, and confidence
Abhishek works with individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood, people-pleasing, low self-confidence, and challenges with sleep or eating patterns. His approach focuses on understanding the underlying sources of these concerns while building practical skills and resilience to support meaningful, lasting change.
