Heather Clough

Counsellor

Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)

A former elementary school teacher, Heather helps children, teens and adults understand their emotions and build coping skills that last.

How Heather can help

Heather supports clients through anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, emotional regulation and life transitions. Her years in the classroom give her a deep understanding of child development and family systems, which makes her a natural fit for kids and teens and the parents who support them.

Heather's approach

Heather's approach is trauma-informed and person-centred. She creates a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their strengths, develop coping strategies and find what feels meaningful to them. She draws on CBT, EMDR, EFIT, attachment theory and Solution-Focused Therapy, and brings in play and art when it helps.

Heather holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. Before becoming a counsellor, she spent over a decade as an elementary school teacher.
